The collectible will be offered as a physical copy as well as an NFT and will include a comic book cover from DC’s (Detective Comics) “The Brave and The Bold” (non-fungible token). To redeem the NFT, collectors merely need to connect their wallets. The digital copy is created on the blockchain of the World Asset eXchange (WAX).
Funko has advanced further into the world of cryptocurrencies and NFTs with this most recent collaboration with Warner Brothers. The comic book collectible, which will only be offered by Walmart, is anticipated to be available from the two companies in both physical and digital form.
Funko will now exclusively sell its 30,000-piece “Brave and the Bold” collection at Walmart beginning on October 7. Fans were permitted to purchase two action figures along with an NFT. Additionally, customers can use the non-fungible token version of the product online.
In a news release, Funko’s CEO, Andrew Perlmutter, said, “We are thrilled to bring this first-to-market opportunity to the world’s largest mass retailer.” This is a chance to make it simple for customers to purchase digital memorabilia of their favorite brands and characters.
